Suicide Lodge

Introduction

Suicide Lodge is here as a suicide reference, it is not a suicide prevention site. If you are suicidal, please call

The Samaritans (0345 90 90 90 in the United Kingdom or 1850 60 90 90 in the Republic of Ireland.) You can visit The Samaritans Website by clicking here, or send email to: jo@samaritans.org. E-mail is read and answered 365 days a year.

Note that the Samaritans will not break a caller's confidentiality on any matter pertaining to suicide.

Or call The National Resource center for Suicide Prevention and Aftercare (1-404-256-9797 in the U.S.A. or Canada.)

Or call The American Association of Suicidology for the nearest agency. (212-237-2280 in the U.S.A.)

They are all trained to deal with the suicidal mind.

The aim of the site is to present facts and resources related to the subject of suicide. It is not pro, or anti suicide. There are pictures that show peoples bodies after they have committed suicide on this site. This may be very shocking to some people.

You can go to the bottom of this page for links to other suicide sites.

Below is a list of a few books that I have found helpful in the study of suicide. For a more complete list of death related books click here.

Final Exit

Controversial best-seller shows people looking to end their suffering from unbearable pain due to terminal or incurable illness how to prepare for and commit suicide, and offers other relevant information.

Final Exit

The Peaceful Pill Handbook

The book compares different methods utilized in voluntary euthanasia and assisted suicide and the reliability and peacefulness of each method. Includes information about the use of nembutal, helium, propoxyphene, manufacturing homemade suicide pills, and more. Written by end-of-life physician, Dr. Philip Nitschke.

Or Not to Be:
A Collection of Suicide Notes

Oddly fascinating small book, a collection of suicide notes by the famous, including Kurt Cobain, Vincent Van Gogh, Diane Arbus, Sylvia Plath, and Virginia Woolf. Also included are poignant last words from the utterly obscure.

Or Not to Be

Suicide And Attempted Suicide:
How To Commit Suicide
And The Consequences Of Failure

This book about suicide methods is out of print, bit it is worth getting, if you can buy it for a good price. It looks at things like: what is the best method? which method is quickest? which is the least painful? what is the percentage of failed attempts using a particular method? You can learn about a multitude of suicide methods in one book.

Asphyxia, cutting and stabbing, drowning, drugs, chemicals, poisons, electrocution, gunshot, strangulation, hypothermia, and jumping. Includes explicit instructions on how to go about each method, and what the likely physiological damage will be if the attempt fails.
