How Nepalese Hashish Is Made

Rubbing Marijuana Plant Between Hands To Collect The Resin Known As Hashish

This is the simplest (technically) as well as the hardest (physically) method of making hashish. All the worker needs to do is rub the marijuana plants continuously between his hands.

Until the resin, accumulating on his palms, becomes thick enough to be safely scraped off.

To obtain what will amount to a relatively small quantity (less than 10 grams), at the end of a working day, requires great physical effort.

As if this were not already hard enough, the conscientious worker can begin his work only well into the day. He continues under the burring sun.

He had to wait for the moisture, the plants retained during the subtropical night, to dry out.

If he were to rub the wet plants early in the morning, he could obtain a greater, and heavier, quantity of hashish at the end of his working day. But the quality would suffer.

An honest producer is never seduced by this temptation. It would greatly affect the quality of his product.

Note About Nepalese Hashish

Good Nepalese hashish is among the best hashish on the planet. The legendary Eden Hashish Centre in Katmandu, Nepal was open for business from 1962 to 1973. Hashish and marijuana were available in retail and wholesale quantities.

In the early 1970's the USA pressured Nepal to stop allowing the sale of drugs by threatening to stop foreign aid to the country. In 1973, Nepal banned cannabis shops and exporting hashish. All hashish shops had to close down. Until that time, marijuana and hashish were legal and sold openly in government licensed shops.

The hand rubbing process is one of two ancient methods of producing hashish. See how to make hashish for information about producing your own hashish by hand rubbing, and using other methods.
